Rollsigns from Ajax, ON
This mylar front route rollsign was originally
designed for an Orion Bus. Ajax Transit never
replaced their rollsigns before the merge with
Pickering. Since Orion V bus #916 was the
only bus Ajax Transit received in 1990, there's
a high probability this sign came from that bus.
It was printed on November 9, 1990 and has
17 exposures. Its sign tag is shown below.

11/9/90 TRANSIGN
Ajax Transit 1990 built OBI 05.501 Orion V #916 is the bus this rollsign
may have been designed for. If so, that would be the sign seen above
the windshield. It is seen at the Ajax GO Station on July 17, 1996.
Ajax Transit operated as an independent transit system for the Town of Ajax up until
September 4, 2001, when it and its neighbouring system to the west,
Pickering Transit,
merged to become the
Ajax-Pickering Transit Authority. APTA operated jointly until
January 1, 2006, when it, along with
Whitby Transit, Oshawa Transit and Clarington
Transit of Bowmanville, merged to become what is now
Durham Region Transit.
