Rollsigns from York Region, ON Markham - Southeast Division
|
York Region Transit's Markham Division has its roots at the Miller Paving yard on Miller Avenue just east of Woodbine Avenue. Miller Paving has a long term contract with York Region to store and maintain the buses for the region. Starting in 1984, this contract predates the merger that created York Region Transit by 17 years. In 2003, Miller took over the Richmond Hill routes after the contract with Pacific Western was not renewed. In the middle 2000s (between 2005 and 2007), transit operations moved from the main Miller Group yard at 505 Miller Avenue (east of Woodbine Avenue) to the new facilities at nearby 8050 Woodbine Avenue at Burncrest Road.

This York Region Transit (Markham Division) jumbo mylar rollsign is part of the same set as
the two to the left. Unlike those, and because there were no buses that operated in Richmond
Hill, this rollsign only has routes from Markham on it. This rollsign is dated April 8, 2004 like
the two to the left, but this one only has 38 exposures. Its sign tag is shown below.
