Rollsigns from York Region, ON
Vaughan - Southwest Division
York Region Transit's Vaughan Division was operated by Tokmakjian Inc. Starting with Vaughan Transit from before YRT was
formed, they operated out of a shared facility with S&N Diesel and Can-Ar Coach Service at 221 Caldari Road, with additional
vehicle storage at Metro Canada Logistics on Creditstone Road. Tokmakjian had repeated renewals of the service contract on
May 4, 2003 for three years, and on October 27, 2005 for an expiration date of May 1, 2010. The length of the contract was
extended to July 31, 2010 to allow time to complete a new region owned garage facility at 8300 Keele Street. Open bids were
tendered for a new service contract before the new garage opened. Several companies submitted bids, and in February of 2010
the contract was awarded to Veolia Transportation. The new garage opened on August 1, 2010. Veolia Transportation later
became Transdev Services. On May 1, 2021, a new seven year operations contract was awarded to TOK Transit for the
consolidated Southwest (Vaughan) and North (Newmarket) divisions, now collectively known as West-North Division.
