Rollsigns from Pittsburgh, PA
"Port Authority of Allegheny County"
Pittsburgh PATransit 1978 built AM General Metropolitan #2724, the bus
this sign was from, is seen northbound on Perry Highway at West View
Ave. heading back to the garage on October 4, 1982. The area behind
the bus is now unrecognizable, as I-279 runs through that area now.

This mylar side route sign from PATransit's Ross Garage is off of 1978
built AM General Metropolitan #2724. The sign was mounted in the window
immediately forward of the rear doors. It's print date is June 6, 1978. It has
120 exposures. Its sign tag is shown below. The image of this sign has
been enlarged 1.5 times that of signs on other pages to show detail.

The exposure numbers printed on the back skip numbers and have
gaps in their sequence. They show the exposure count going up to
140 even though there's only 120. They're grouped as follows:

- Black exposures with white print: 01 to 65
- PATransit Logo and black exposures with yellow print: 80 to 98
- Park-n-Ride and Ubus exposures: 100 to 104
- Red exposures: 110 to 140

It's worth noting... Ed Burik also saved this sign
from being destroyed. The story as told by him:

"I ripped it out of 2724 moments before the
scrap guys towed it away.. they were starting
to hook it up, they said I could have it, I didn't
really have any tools with me, so it got
manhandled right outta the bus. That's why
the front piece was never on the box."
