Information on the history of Central West Motor Stages is sparse. Trademark records show the first use of the company's name as a charter bus service based out of Chicago, Illinois was in October 6, 1981. Trademark applications were submitted on January 26, 1989, with registration approval occurring on October 31, 1989. The company's trademark expired on May 6, 1996. A company with the same name based out of Texas but with its headquarters listed as in Chicago also exists. With the operational name of Central West of Texas, initial registration was filed on August 28, 2018, but expired on July 23, 2020. It is unknown if the company still operates today. The rollsign shown below was removed from a retired bus where, on its back window, had the ghost image of the carrier Mid-America Bus Company. As a family owned and operated service since 1947, American Consolidated Transportation Companies, Inc. (known as Mid America) expanded from a school bus company in rural Illinois into a complete ground transportation system serving education, corporations, seniors, churches, special event groups and the travel industry, with services based in Illinois, Colorado and Texas. The current company, Mid-America Coach Lines and Tours Inc. with its headquarters in Elk Grove Village, Illinois still operates to this day. |
